"She needed to get away. It was all becoming too much. The expectations were draining. The news was overwhelming. So many emotions, so little time. The gravel crunched below her feet. Air fresh and clean. We don't get much rain here, but when it happens, everything feels new. The dust and grime washed away. Though the heavy rain had stopped, the fog and chill remained.
This was her church. Her time to escape. Her time to connect. To be whole without judgement.
The rocks a deep red with wet. The formations in the distance barely there. She stops to watch a fawn follow it's mother. How crazy to think her world could be crumbling but these massive cliffs have seen more, they will be here long after we are gone. The sun peeks out and the clouds recede. The mountains emerge with a fresh layer of snow, glimmering. The sun warms her soul. It will all be ok. She can go home, refueled to fight another day."
