Collection: Kenna Knudsen

Kenna’s work explores the deep connections between inner experience and the natural world, moving fluidly between expansive landscapes and intimate, symbolic forms. From her miniature black-and-white acrylic studies of Colorado’s 14ers to her mixed media explorations of botanical anatomy, her practice reflects a quiet investigation of strength, resilience, and shared structure across living systems.

In A Life in Transition: A Totem Series, Kenna turns inward, merging human anatomy with animal totems to capture moments of emotional transformation. Drawing in charcoal and conte, she morphs animal forms into human expressions and body landmarks, mapping where emotion is physically felt. Totems such as the owl, elk, eagle, and fox represent guidance, change, and the acceptance of the unhealed self, offering insight through presence and connection. Across all her work, Kenna invites contemplation of growth, healing, and the subtle wisdom found at the intersection of nature and humanity.
