This watercolor was painted on the scene at South Valley Park on the Colorado Front Range. What sticks out to me most at that park is the accessibility of the trail and the red rock formations that emerge from the yellowish grass and purple bushes. The stark difference between the rocks and the winter foliage creates a great contrast.
